Coaching

Individual and couples coaching:

In individual and couples coaching, I support parents to access their internal strengths and innate
parenting skills, to grow in their parenting and meet head-on their current parenting challenges or
concerns. Using research-based coaching methods, Jewish wisdom, and the latest in brain science, my
approach to parent coaching helps you, the parent, discover what works for you, in your context, based
on your unique family and children. I will work with you individually or as a couple to tap into your true
values and priorities, and co-construct strategies and approaches to help you and your family thrive.

Group coaching:

In group coaching, I work with a small group of 3-5 parents sharing a similar parenting challenge or area
of growth. Throughout the group sessions, we work together to discover strengths and strategies to
help in this area, while supporting each family’s unique path to working through the challenge. Working
with other like-minded individuals, alongside me as your coach, we co-create strategies and methods
that will help each parent individually, and the group collectively.

How coaching works:

The goal of the parent coaching is for the parents to work on themselves and grow into their authentic selves as parents.  Through awareness of their unique parenting styles and strengths in parenting, and seeing their spouse’s strengths, the parents will be able to work on their parenting challenges in a more effective way.  Coaching is not about telling the parent what to do, or giving one-size-fits all strategies for parenting, but about co-creating with the coach and/or your spouse strategies and approaches, based on yours and your children’s strengths, individual personalities, and unique family dynamics.

The ideal amount of time for coaching is 8-12 sessions, and I also offer abbreviated coaching for 4-6 sessions.  The first two to three sessions are foundational; we do an intake, delve deeply into the parents’ and children’s strengths, and we develop together a dream or vision for what you truly want, based on your values and priorities.  Then, we begin designing a plan to help you achieve your goals, based on your strengths, unique personalities, and what you are already doing well.  Every week, you work on small steps toward your goal, as basic as parent self-care, working on external environmental issues, or specific changes in how you address certain parenting challenges.  It is all individualized and within your context.
